From My Pen To Yours: Qanna

Hey people!

I profusely apologize for not posting in over two months.  Life happened and I'm graduating in three days so I've been minority stressed. . .but that's okay!

I wanted to share this poem with you.  It is another poem about one of the names of God.  The name I chose was Qanna, which means jealous.  Enjoy!

Qanna - Jealous

He promised me joy.
So why am I dejected?
He promised me love.
So why do I feel neglected?

I still wear my ring.
Why doesn’t he?
I still say, “Forever more.”
Where is his promise to me?

Forever is what he promised.
Does forever mean till now?
Barely one year and it’s over.
How can I move on?  How?

Was it just a dream?
Was it a green screen of
The love he promised me?
Where is the man I loved?

It was all cliches saying
“Forever, I will love you.”
And, “I’ll always be there.”
Where is the love I thought was true?

Torn apart and left alone,
I sit in silence all on my own.
I scream Your name, wanting
To run back into Your home.

But after all this time,
Will You really take me back?
After all my rejection,
Will You really give me the love I lack?

The despair and angry are washed away,
Your loving words remind me of this:
“I was the first to speak your name.
I was the first to give you true love’s kiss.”

Back in Your arms, I remember one thing,
This promise I will forever hold true:
You are jealous for me,

And I am jealous for you.

Thanks for reading!
